Places that you should check out when you visit England off the well-worn tourist path.

When many people think of visiting England, London is the place that comes to mind and it is a good choice, but there is so much more to explore in England than the busy city London. With the huge tourist population that makes London a melting pot of culture, many English people feel that London is not really “English”, as it is its own place with its own culture which doesn’t provide the taste of England. England is a small country and with a car, you can visit a good number of interesting place. For the people that like camping, all they need is 4WD supercenter, where they can attach a roof track, get a tent and go camping anywhere in the UK like Wales and Scotland without the authorities minding. You might consider bringing a partner on this one as sleeping in the middle of a wilderness alone can’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

There are five other places that you can consider visiting, somewhat off the well-worn tourist path of places like Cambridge and Stratford Upon Avon. York is a beautiful and historic chocolate box city two hours by train from London, which can be likened to Bruges but a little quiet. If you have a car, there are beautiful coastline and the unspoilt moorland of the Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales just a short drive away. There is a traditional seaside town close to London, south of England called Bournemouth, which is similar to Brighton. Bristol is the alternative for the people that like London, but not the noise. This is city that is less chaotic, hectic and is more transient unlike London, where you will find people with time to chat in a bar for instance. People that love the beauty of nature as they trek and cycle have Matlock in mecca, which is a city within the Peak District. This Peak District is a home to the UK’s best theme park, Alton Towers which is a great day pout with one of the best and world’s most amazing roller coaster. Finally, there is the Lake District, which is the most beautiful place in the UK. At the beginning of the autumn when the leaves are turning red and gold, if you do not mind the wetness that you find up there. It is the best place to spend some few day’s hiking and nestling next to a log fire in a cozy pub.
